Bay Area Biotreatment Soil Mix Suppliers, Compost producers and other interested parties,
The Biotreatment Soil Mix (BSM) Spec Work Group of the BASMAA Development Committee has developed revisions to the BSM specification contained in the municipal regional stormwater permit (MRP), which became effective on January 1, 2016 and the proposed revisions were submitted to the Regional Water Board in February 2016. The Regional Water Board has approved BASMAA’s proposed revisions.
See the attached letter from Water Board staff.
See also the attached revised spec in both redline and clean versions.
The Work Group also modified a checklist document (attached) that many, including MRP permittee municipal staff have been using over the last two years for BSM submittals.
BASMAA created these standard specifications for lot-scale site design and treatment measures (e.g., for roof runoff and paved areas) as a resource for single-family homes and small development projects (i.e., that create and/or replace ≥ 2,500 ft2 to < 10,000 ft2 of impervious surface).
